FRONTIER TECHNOLOGY EXCHANGE
Professor David Levinson, Director of TransportLab at the University of Sydney, alongside Honorary Professor Chen Cai, presented the lab’s pioneering research in shared mobility, network optimisation, congestion management, and transportation digital twins. A highlight was the intelligent traffic management system built on Sydney’s SCATS platform. The system can accurately predict traffic conditions 30 minutes to 2 hours in advance, automatically generates signal timing adjustments and vehicle rerouting strategies, effectively reducing manual intervention and enhancing emergency response capabilities. Participants explored potential pathways for localising this technology to Zhejiang’s smart expressway infrastructure.
